Santa stopped by😊

❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️πŸŽ„❄️
Isn’t this guy adorable? I got to work on this panel top last week..I had to do a little free motion quilting on the snowflakes as I was quilting it. Not sure if my client just forgot to stitch them down or maybe she thought the quilting would secure them. Either way it only took a few extra minutes to outline stitch them down. I could only do what was in my path as I rolled the quilt.

❄️Just a simple panel with a couple borders added and a little bit of snowflake AppliquΓ© ❄️

I quilted it with a panto design called Apricot Moons Christmas Tree πŸŽ„ by Urban Elementz. The pattern is only a 6” wide pattern...perfect for a panel size quilt.

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Mrs. Mary P. Of Jacksonville Arkansas pieced this for a Christmas gift for a niece. Not sure I’d be able to part with this big guy 😊

Christmas was in the house todayπŸŽ„

One of my best friends, Missy P., came over today to help me quilt her little panel quilts that she will be gifting for Christmas gifts... And she spared no expense when she picked out the backing fabrics....Yummy, fluffy, velvety soft minkee fabrics.... I might just have to make myself a snuggle quilt just so I can put this on the back side. It’s seriously to die for. She and her mom, Mrs. Juanita got these put together for her grandkids and great nephews....

I absolutely am loving the snowmen quilt... Snowmen are my favorite for Christmas... Santa’s not bad...I’ve just always loved Snowmen ⛄️

I got two done with this blue fuzzy minkee.

And look at how yummy that backing fabric looks. I learned a long time ago that when you’re quilting a minkee backing on a longarm that you CAN NOT stretch the backing as tight as you would normally do because if you do, when you take it off the longarm it will scrunch up like an accordion and nothing you do will make it lay flat. Ask me... abuse I know. Lol πŸ˜‚

I just
quilted them with a freehanded loop and swirl... since we could get several tops on the backings she bought, we thought it would be faster and easier to free float the tops and do them one after another.

Isn’t this Santa cute?😍

πŸ’—⛄️πŸ’—

Panels make great gifts, all you really need to do is maybe add a border or possibly cut the squares apart then maybe add a small border or two. Makes the perfect size for a toddler or a pre teen.

And just look at how stinkin cute the backing isπŸ˜πŸ’—

Clue 2 of Good Fortune Mystery

Clue 2 is now in progress. Had to take a little 2 day off due to a migraine brought on by the shift in the weather. Unfortunately I can tell when the weather is going to change in a big way...by my head😬Lucky for me I have a medicine that’s supposed to help but it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE so I only take it if its really bad but I waited a little too long before I took it so I paid the price. 😬

Oh well, today was better so I managed to get a few dozen of my HST’s done.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏼

I tried a couple different methods that included Bonnie’s Essential Tool and my Accuquilt die cutter. Although my die wasn’t the exact size I needed I can still trim them down to the EXACT size they should be, which might be better for me in the long run.
 With the Essential toolπŸ‘πŸ»

Some of my purple HST’s ready for pressing on my Steamfast 680....I don’t think I will ever be without one of these. I love how easy it is to press blocks without having to worry about distorating them. And his model has 5 heat settings: nylon, silk, wool, cotton and linen. I usually use the wool setting for my cottons. The cotton setting gets pretty dang hot ans I don’t want to take a chance and scald whatever I’m working on.

πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

With the Accuquilt die system. These will need to be trimmed down to the specific size needed. I know I can trim them down with my Easy Square ruler but since I’ve been taking a series of classes using the Deb Tucker rulers I’m probably going to use one of my Tucker Trimmers.
I wasn’t sure about using PURPLE πŸ’œ in the place of the blue but I think it’s going to be just fine. Besides I had a lot more purple in my stash than I did blue so why not. https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2018/12/mystery-monday-link-up-part-2.html
